• Emigration. Arrived in Australia with the Tyler family (wife of George Firkin at the time).

On 7 Aug 1861 she paid a deposit to assist to bring her brother Edwin Tyler (junior), aged 19 to Australia. He arrived on the Annie Wilson on 8 Apr 1862

On 23 May 1862 she also paid a deposit to assist her friend Jesse Oliver, aged 27, moulder of Staffordshire, to emigrate to Australia. He arriced on the Lobelia in 1863.


Emma married George Firkin, son of Chalim (Caleb) Firkin and Mary Bevan, in 1858 in Holy Trinity, Smethwick, West Bromwich, Staffordshire England. (George Firkin was born on 10 Mar 1834 in West Bromwich District, West Midlands England, died on 22 Jul 1893 in Murnin St, Wallsend, NSW Australia and was buried on 23 Jul 1893 in Sandgate Cemetery, Newcastle, NSW Australia - C of E section plot 23/100.)
