John then married a Sarah Doyle, we believe the address you have is now not the correct one, I believed it at the time, however she came over on the Tippoo Saab from Ireland, aged 14 years, an Earl Grey Charity, which sent orphan girls out to Australia from work houses, to marry the men who were deprived of woman. She has her name on the Hyde Park Barracks in Sydney. There were a lot of girls sent out and they were known as the Famine Orphans.

• emigrated. Sarah Doyle came out to Australia on the "Tippoo Saib" in 1850. Not proven other than word of mouth. Apparently she was an orphan and was in an orphanage in Ireland.

Sarah married John William Ditcham, son of John Ditcham and Mary Ann Bartrim, on 12 Sep 1853 in St Philips C of E, York St, Sydney, NSW Australia. (John William Ditcham was born in 1808 in Smallburg, near Tunsted, Norfolk England, christened in Catholic Church, Norwich, Norfolk England and died on 27 Jul 1887 in 1 Crown Lane, Wolloomoolloo, Sydney, NSW Australia ³⁶⁷.)
