• Occupation. worked at Howard Smith's (boatbuilders?) at Balmain opposite where the family lived on the corner of Grafton St Balmain

• fact. Arthur was electrocuted while working in the boiler room of a ship at Arthur Smith's apparently due to a faulty lead which was thrown into the bay. This case went to court and compensation was awarded to his wife of 600 - 800 pounds
