Witnesses James Kennedy & Annie Kennedy 1932 16 May VIC Death Cert 1932/786 held living at 6 Carrngton Grove,St Kilda for 14 years Hearsay , Margaret Goodwin believes MJE Kennedy died a pauper due to alcoholism COROWA FREE PRESS Friday 20 May 1932 The death occurred on 16th inst., at her residence, 6 Carrington Grove, East St Kilda, of Mrs Margaret Jane Goodwin, relict of the late Mr John Goodwin, of Corowa, at the age of 67. There is a sorrowing family of two sons, Messrs John and Lionel, and three daughters, Florence (Mrs H L Maude), May (Mrs Douglas Carrick), and Irene (Mrs H C Freyer). Deceased was a daughter of the late Mr Patrick Kennedy, of "The Retreat", Corowa, and will be remembered by a large circle of friends among the older residents of the district. The late Mrs Goodwin's death removes another of the pioneers of Corowa, whose ranks are fast thinning out. The remains were conveyed by motor hearse to Corowa and the funeral took place on Wednesday, at the Corowa New Cemetery, where the Rev. Father O'Reilly officiated at the graveside.
