• source. Matthew Anderson @ genes who states:
[Bagby Family courtesy Audrey Hussey Bagby.FTW] Details from memorial card:- "Rest on dear mother They labour's o'er Thy willing hands Will toil no more A faithful mother True and kind No friend on earth Like thee we find" Mother died at the hands of her father in 1879. He was imprisoned and the children were on the 1881 Census living in the Aston Union Workhouse at Gravelly Hill, Birmingham Upon further investigation into the Workhouse records we found that all the children other than Agnes (the eldest) were fostered out by the Kings Norton Ladies Committee to Mr William amd Mrs Rhoda Davis of 69 High St., Bewdley, Worcs on April 23rd 1881. He was a Shoemaker by trade The children that were fostered are :- Annie Wagstaffe aged 9 Alfred " aged 7 Caroline " aged 5 Fanny " aged 2 (little Gran) We have still to find out where Agnes went, although she was with her brother and sisters on the 1881 Census. She was sent to work for a Mr. John Whorton, who was a spade and shovel maker in Coventry Road, and we understand from her fathers death certificate that she married in the name of Sumner. We know that Fanny eventually went to live at Tickenhill Manor with the Parkers but are not sure at this time as to the circumstances
