The death occurred on Wednesday at the Castlemaine Hospital of one of the pioneers of the Wimmera in Mr Alexander Lambruk Carter of "Pine Lodge", Harcourt, at the age of 74 years. Mr. Carter's grandfather arrived in the Wimmera in 1842 and in 1851 took up land at Brim Springs and purchased "Glenisla" in 1860 where Mr Carter was born. Deceased was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Carter of "Glenisla". He was a returned soldier of the Great War and for the last few years lived with his sister, Mrs. Potter of Harcourt. His death has removed another of the pioneers of the Horsham district. Surviving relatives are Mrs. Edith Potter, Miss Jessie Carter (Brighton) and Mr. Frederick Carter (W.A.). The late Mr Carter was a valued member of the Presbyterian Church and was unmarried.
