1851 Armagh Northern Ireland. James Goodwin, son of Patrick Goodwin and Ma ry O'Haggan, and Elizabeth Thompson were married June at St Marks Church A rmagh Co. Tyronne Nth Ireland. James was in the Army, 25th Regiment of Foo t.
St Mark's Armagh's Parish Church. The original church was built in 18 11 to relieve pressure on the cathedral which was then in a poor sta te of repair. When the army required a garrison church in the mid nineteen th century a decision was made to enlarge St Mark's.The large galleries we re primarily for use by the soldiers.

c1856 James Jnr. was born in Bangalore East India, as was his brother Edwa rd.

1857 May 25. James arrived in Melbourne aboard the ship "Southern Cross" w ith his parents James Goodwin aged 35yrs, mother Elizabeth Thompson aged 2 7years. Also sister Isabella aged 4,and brother Edward aged 2. Isabella w as born in Ireland and Edward and James were both born in East India. T he embarkation port was Calcutta.

James' brother John lived at Redlands just north of Corowa. When a Mr.Jo hn Goodwin of Redlands died in Oct 1912 his brothers were listed as Mess rs Edward Daniel and James.

1876 May 20 Marriage at Albury to Eliza Curd. Occupation then - farmer fr om Mulwala.

1879 Living at Sandy Ridges near Corowa. Birth of son James Patrick Goodwi n.

1887 From Land Map of Mulwala James owned 200 acres. 1910 map has his na me crossed out so probably sold this farm to his neighbour.

Cemetery Wodonga, Victoria Australia.). The cause of her death was Virtual Henia. Strangulation of the bowel over three days.
