General Notes:
Married Florence Ann May Parrish on 14th March 1906. Reg. Murwillumbah. N.S.W. From the book of Stan Thomas, page 96 the home of George and May Smith, at Clunes was like a second home and still is a stop over place with their son, Ernie, who married Edith Pearson. George Smith attended Albion Park school and later married May Parrish of Foxground. He farmed at Mullumbimby and Federal, before making his home at Clunes, where he followed his trade as a carpenter. Clunes has a very historic background and, although it only reached the proportion of a small village, it was generally referred to as the "Holy City" and still has three churches. It was the mecca of the Loyal Orange Lodge annual march and celebrations, while Paddy mcNiff conducted a bakery for many years and catered for all local functions.
