John Joseph (Happy Jack) Conwell was born on the 25th May 1860 at Fort Denison, Sydney. He was a sailor. He married Elizabeth A Gardner in 18--. Her parents were Edward and Elizabeth Gardner.
They had 8 known children, George born 1883, Mary 188-, Louisa 1885, John 1888, William 1890, Robert 1892, Thomas 1896 and Elizabeth 1897.
Elizabeth died in 1901 at Manly.
John possibly married for a second time in 1903 at Newtown to Florence Emma Bright. She was born in 1881 and died on the 8th February 1916 aged 35 yrs. They had 2 known children together, George born 1900? and Joseph 1903.
John died in 1901 at Sydney aged 41yrs. (how did he have Joseph in 1903??)
1. George Edward Conwell was born in 1883 at Sydney. He married Coralie E Adams in 19-and they had 6 known children, Percival born 1906, Richard 1906, Rita 1908, Thora 1912, Robert 1917 and Allen 1919.
He died on the 3rd October 1953 at Balmain.
