Alma Conwell was born in 1898 and married Walter E. Kirley in 1919. Walter was born in 1897. They had 5 known children, Alma born 19--, Keith 19--, Laurelle 19--, Ronald 19- and Walter 19--.
Alma was a pianist in her own band. She could play music she had only heard once.
Walter was a private (and a Bugler) in the 17th Infantry Battalion in the first world war. He enlisted in 1915 and was 5'6". He had a fair complexion, blue eyes and fair hair. He was wounded with a gunshot to the left groin/thigh which fractured his femur in June of 1916 and was sent home to Australia and discharged. He applied for and received a military pension in 1916. At that time, he was living at 203? Military Rd, Neutral Bay.
From at least 1924 to about 1928 they were living at 104 Denison St, Waverley
From at least 1930 to 1958 Walter was a Lift Attendant (he walked with a limp and this job did not have any walking to do) and the family lived firstly at 20 Peronne Rd, Maroubra and finally at 1 Peronne Rd, Maroubra.
Walter died on the 28th August 1960 in Sydney. Alma applied for his war medal in 1976.
Alma died in 1991 aged 93 yrs. She was formerly of Malabar Heights.

She married Keith Hosford in 1947 at Kingsford and they had 2 known children, Christopher born 19-and David 19--.
From at least 1949 to 1954 the family lived at 29 Weston St, Granville and Keith was a Clerk.
From at least 1958 to 1980 they lived at 670 Victoria Rd, Ermington and Keith was a salesman.
Alma possibly died on the 10th May 2003. If this was her she was 88 and was late of Woy Woy, formerly of Noraville. 2. Walter Kirley b: 19-
3. Leslie Kirley was born in 19-. He married Beryl Jean Beaver in 1947 and they had 2 known children, Colin born 19-and Kevin 19--.
In 1958 they were living at 29 Gladys St, Rydalmere, but from at least 1963 to 1968 they were living with his parents at 1 Peronne Pd, La Perouse.
From at least 1972 until 1977 they had moved to Slacks Creek, Beenleigh, Qld.
For all his working life Leslie was a painter. He died on the 25th Dec 1982.
Beryl died on the 14th February, 2006.

4. Laurelle Kirley b: 19-- and married Leslie William Charles Snell in 1951.
Leslie had various jobs during his life. From at least 1943 to his marriage in 1951 he was a tram conductor and tram driver.
From 1954 to 1958 he was in the RAN. From 1963 to 1972 he was a storeman.
In 1977 he was a farm hand at Cowra.
Leslie died in 1944 and was late of Ballina.
5. Keith Kirley was born in 19- and married Judith R. Atywood in 1955. They had 2 known children, Andrew and David.
