Ellen Rose (Rosie) Conwell was born on the 14^th May 1902 in Sydney. She was given to the Balmain Convent to rare. She met Robert Henry Goldsmith and never took her vows, instead marrying him on the 12^th November 1924 at Glebe. Robert was born on the 24^th December 1902.

They had 5 known children, Robert born 1923, Albert 1925, Shirley 1931, Patricia 1936 and Carmel 1944.

In 1930 they lived in Parramatta and Robert was a Fruiterer.
In 1935 they lived in Balmain and he was a Greengrocer, however in 1937 while still living at Balmain he was a labourer.
From 1943 to 1968 they still lived at Balmain and Robert was a Watchman.

Ellen Rose (Rosie) died on the 9^th March 1978 and Robert died on the 10^th December 1986 aged 83. He was from North Narrabeen, Sydney.
