Beth Truscott Chapman was born on 7 November 1922 in Woollahra. She went to Deepwater school, then Glen Innes High School. In 1939 she left Deepwater to go to Sydney Business College. On 8 November 1944 she married an American pilot Private Phil Bayer. However he wanted her to go back to America with him and she did not want to go. Later they were divorced. After their divorce she moved to Adelaide. On 4 July 1942 Beth enlisted in the RAF in Neutral Bay. She was an aircraftwoman. She was discharged on 9 October 1945. After this she became a secretary. In 1949 she lived in Edgecliff when she was a stenographer. She later married Tom Ramsay, a draughtsman, in 1951 at Burwood. In 1954 they lived in Penshurst in Sydney. In 1958-68 they lived at Lane Cove. Here Tom was an engineering draughtsman. Beth and Tom later separated. In 1977 Beth, Janet (a typist) and Brett (a student) were living at Lane Cove. Beth later moved to Adelaide to be close to Janet. She died in South Australia on 8 December 2002. Her ashes are next to her mother's grave at Emmaville.
