Harry Arthur was the only son of EDWIN'S who remained in England and grew up to marry into the Bate family like his father before him, Harry married Harriet, the daughter of Samuel Bate in 1900 and they went on to have two girls of their own, Jessie and Olive. It was Harry who was ultimately awarded probate when his father died in 1902, probate for his mother was granted to his sister Elizabeth two years later in 1904.

Harry married Harriet Bate, daughter of Samuel Thomas Bate and Harriet Bate, on 7 May 1900 in Birmingham, Warwickshire England.³⁶⁹ (Harriet Bate was born circa 1869 in Rowley Regis, Staffordshire England ³⁶⁹.)
