  General Notes:

Amy de la Serna notes:
Walter Bacon was a soldier, he was in the 1st world war and also posted for a time in Greece. He worked for 30 years for British Rail and was awarded a silver cigar box as a retirement gift (I have a news clipping). I never saw him smoke a cigar but he did occasionally smoke a pipe but was banned from the house, I remember that my great grandmother used to make him go and sit in a shed at the bottom of the garden to smoke. We always refered to them as "little grandma and little granddad" maybe because they were both so short in stature. They were both very very lovely people, they lived in the same house until they died both well into thier 90s. The house in Balby, Doncaster, had very very steep stairs, I canīt even imagine climbing those stairs in my 90s but they did it every day without an issue. Of the couples surviving daughters, both married, Dorothy to a Mr. Brown - they never had any children. Christine to Wiliam Robertson, they had 5 children.
Both Walter Bacon and Walter Fish enjoyed sketching,
