My name is Laurence Prout and I am a descendant from Prouts who lived at Broadmoor Farm near the Peter Tavy village in Devon. My wife Ruth and I travelled to England in 2011 and did some family research. I believe we have found a connection to your family tree. namely John Prout (born 1747) the son of Samuel Prout and Grace Bray.
In the West Devon Records office (Exeter) we found in the parish registers for Tavistock and/or Peter Tavy a baptism record for John Prout bap.2-5-1747 son of Samuel and Grace
We found in the Peter Tavy church graveyard a headstone for a "John Prout who departed this life on February 4 1784 aged 36 years". This fits in with the birthdate of 1747 ie nearly 37 years old
We also found in Peter Tavy records the marriage of a John Prout to a Jane Coram on 30-3-1773 and subsequent children

John's death in 1784 could also account for no more children.
The gravestones of Grace, Thomas and James are somewhat legible and have been digitally photographed.
I have attached a part copy of my family tree showing the possible connection. The records do not always indicate the parents of the wedding party (John and Jane) and hence absolute proof is not guaranteed.
