My great aunt Katie(who was a sister of my paternal grandmother)was governess to John Henry Glasson when his first wife died.

Katie and John subsequently married and produced a "second family"

It would have been a fairly unimportant link except that my father and his sisters regularly went to spend school holidays with the John Glassons on their farm at Stanfield (near Blayney, NSW). I heard very many Stanfield tales as a kid and was taken to see the place etc. I didn't know Uncle John (he died before my time) but got along quite well with Auntie Katie. Via her father, Aunt Katie could be considered 50% Cornish and so was acceptable in the strong Cornish/Wesleyan Glasson family.

John married Mary Blanche Glasson, daughter of Joseph Glasson and Mary Ann Sweetman, on 7 Mar 1895 in Guyong, NSW Australia. (Mary Blanche Glasson was born in 1869, died on 8 Mar 1908 and was buried in Carcoar, NSW Australia.)

John next married Katie Maud Lister, daughter of Thomas Sydney Lister and Emily Australia Tom, on 12 Oct 1910 in Marrickville, Sydney, NSW Australia. (Katie Maud Lister was born on 13 Oct 1886 in Woodstock, on Cargo Rd, near Orange, NSW Australia, died on 2 Jun 1973 in Blayney, NSW Australia and was buried in Orange, NSW Australia.)
