Issac Mobbs Jnr. was born in 1829 to Issac Mobbs Snr. and Ann Tomlinson. They had married in 1821. Issac Snr. had been born in 1794 in Middlesex, England. His parents were William Mobbs (1763-1839) and Ann Grover (1761-1850). William Mobbs had been convicted at the Old Bailey for stealing and was given a 7 year sentence. William had arrived in the colony aboard the Barwell in 1798.

Isaac married Ann Bellamy, daughter of James Zadok Bellamy and Hannah Singleton, on 23 Aug 1853. (Ann Bellamy was born on 10 Apr 1831 in Castle Hill, Sydney, NSW Australia,⁸⁹⁶ died on 1 Oct 1897 in Dundas, Sydney, NSW Australia ⁸⁹⁷ and was buried in St Pauls C of E, Carlingford, Sydney, NSW Australia.)
