• source. Doug Hooper who notes: He joined the 3rd Battalion, 26th Reinforcements of the Australian Army and embarked from Melbourne on 28/2/1918. He spent a short time serving in France before being returned to England with VD. This disease deferred his return to Australia until February 1920.
