  General Notes:

Over 150 groups visit the Parsons home each year for these extremely popular, unique and well-attended concerts. They have been enjoyed by tens of thousands of people over a 30 year period.

David's love for the organ was probably in his genes! His father, the Rev Leland Parsons, held a Licentiate from the London College of Music. Leland started to give David pipe organ tuition when he was twelve.

Leland Parsons was rector of All Souls, Leichhardt and this gave David virtually unlimited access to a large pipe organ. His skills on the organ developed quickly and he soon became the church organist at All Souls. Later, he accepted the
position of organist and choirmaster at St Philip's, Eastwood, a post which he held for 13 years. Since 1978 he has been organist at St Matthews, West Pennant Hills.

In 1969 David was judged the Australian Champion Yamaha Organist and represented Australia at the world finals in Tokyo.

In recognition of his efforts in raising funds for community and charitable organisations through his concerts David was awarded an OAM in 1985.
