  General Notes:

Prior to his marriage to Dorcas Stumbles, Henry Parsons worked in his father's carpentry business. After his marriage, he purchased (for £135) the rights to collect road tolls for southbound traffic at the intersection of the main South Coast
Road and the Bellambi tramline at Russell Vale near Woonona. He and his family lived in a cotttage next to the toll-bar until he sold the lease in January 1880.



In 1875 he bought a block of land in Corrimal St, Wollongong for £85, and lived there from 1880 onwards when he resumed his trade as a carpenter and shingler. In 1893, he purchased the undertaking business of William Hudson in Keira Street,
Wollongong, which he ran until 1918.





At his death, aged 83, in 1933, Henry left an estate valued at £8,939.

Henry married Dorcas Stumbles, daughter of Samuel Stumbles and Annie Byrnes, on 24 Dec 1873 in Fairy Meadow, Wollongong, NSW Australia. (Dorcas Stumbles was born on 1 Mar 1857 in Wollongong, NSW Australia, died on 25 Jun 1928 in 66 Keira St, Wollongong, NSW Australia and was buried in Wollongong Cemetery, NSW Australia.)
