My source for the name and date of birth of his son William Henry is his mansucripts in the Mitchell Library, Sydney, (CY Reel 269 A1770) which my sister Philippppa inspected some years ago when she was living in Sydney. It notes that Thomas
and Amelia arrived at Tutuila, Samoa on the Camden on 14 March 1840, and then at Leone on 14th April 1840; that William Henry was born on 3rd April 1841; that they left Samoa for Sydney and arrived at Port Jackson on 10 August 1842. On 15
January 1843 they left Sydney on the return voyage to Samoa, but three days later William Henry died 'in the evening' and on 19th January they "committed the remains of our darling child William Henry to the mighty deep ... His days of earth
have been few, one year nine months and fifteen days".
