Will written 30.6.1776 witnessed by Stephen Hooker (relative of daughter-in-law Hester Hooker and Overseer in Hurst 1771 & 1776), Richard Wood and Peter Morfee, husband of WILLIAM MARCHANT's daughter Eleanor. Proved 9.8.1777. Executor son THOMAS.
WILLIAM's various legacies absorbed any legacies left in his hands by Sarah Li n t ott of Southwater, Horsham and meant for his children as well as any money owed to his children from the marriage settlement made on Elizabeth Morton upo n h e r marriage to THOMAS. SEE MARCHANT CD ROM.. Sarah Lintott nee Norton was SARAH NORTON's aunt.
