  General Notes:

Emily Victorine Hiscock was born on the 14th February 1904 at Netherby. Her parents were farming at nearby Baker. She was the eldest in a family of two girls and two boys.
She started school at Baker State School and when she was 8 the family moved to Loch and she continued her education there.
In 1935 she married William Sampson and continued living at home with her parents, looking after the household. Her parent's health was declining by then.
After her mother passed away, the family farm was sold and Bill and Emily moved to Leongatha with her father. He passed away in 1946.
Emily was unable to have children, but kept herself very busy with her house and garden. She always took a great interest in all her nieces and nephews and never forgot a birthday. They all received a card and present in the mail.
She regularly kept in touch with all her relations by writing and visiting. Emily was a very nervous passenger in the car. Bill would have to travel at a very sedate speed, probably much to the annoyance of any cars following along the winding country roads.
When Bill retired, Emily potted up plants in empty cans and they went to a couple of different markets and sold them.
Bill had a stroke and was admitted to hospital. The shock caused Emily to also suffer a stroke a couple of days later. She was in hospital for some time and then went to a Nursing Home in Leongatha for a couple years. She never really recovered from the stoke and was unable to do anything or to speak much. She was admitted to a Nursing Home in one of the suburbs in Melbourne and eventually passed away on the 7th of June 1981.

Noted events in her life were:

• Education: Loch State School.

Emily married William Robert (Bill) Sampson, son of Thomas Henry Sampson and Alice Bull, in 1935 in Victoria Australia. (William Robert (Bill) Sampson was born on 6 Jun 1903 in Seaton, Devon England, died on 3 Jul 1977 in Leongatha, South Gippsland, Victoria Australia and was buried in Leongatha Cemetery, Victoria Australia.)
