Emily Charlotte (Emmie) Stephens

Apparently Emily was a very pretty child and a wealthy childless couple wanted to adopt her. Her parents were considering this when little Emily came home from Sunday School with the verse "If your mother and father forsake you, the Lord will take you in", which they felt was a sign not to adopt her out.

(Daniel Finnin was born on 3 Dec 1864 in Bacchus Marsh, Victoria Australia, christened on 9 Dec 1864, died on 27 Jun 1958 in Perth, Western Australia and was buried in Karrakatta, Perth, Western Australia.)
