By 1851 in England, Charle's family consisted of Henry, 13 scholar, John 10 Scholar, Ann, 8 scholar, louisa 5, William 3 and Martha 1. The household also contained Caroline Parsons, an 18 year old house servant. They lived at 283 Cricklewood Road. Thomas and Eliza Prior and Samuel lived at 285 Cricklewood Road.
In 1853 Charles migrated to Australia on the "Constance" with two of his sons and set up a Blacksmith, Wheelwright and Farrier business in Victoria. His son John and grandson Edward carried the tradition on until 1898 when Edward left Victoria and headed to Western Australia.
