HISCOCK - CAMPBELL WEDDING From Brisbane newspaper clipping
Stocks and sweet peas decorated St. Thomas' Presbyterian Church, Murgon, for the marriage of Mr. William Harry Hiscock (eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Hiscock, Netherby, Victoria) and Miss. Elizabeth Lachie (Betty) Campbell (eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Campbell, Woroonden, Murgon).
The Rev. J. Gregson officiated, and Mrs. J. A. Heading was the organist. Mr. V. A. Heading sang.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a frock of ivory satin, brocaded in a leaf design. She added a string of pearls lent by her aunt ( Mrs. P. S. Cobb). and her embroidered tulle veil was held in place with a halo of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet.
The bridesmaids, Misses Ailsa Campbell (sister of the bride) and Pat Heading (cousin of the bridegroom) were frocked respectively in mauve and blue georgette. They carried early Victorian posies, and their tulle veils matched their frocks.
Mr Charles Green (South Australia) was best man, and the groomsman was Mr. Hugh Campbell.
Later 100 guests were entertained at Westhill, the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. Campbell wore Marie Antoinette germaine with a navy hat, and she carried a posy in autumn tonings. The three-tiered wedding cake was made and iced by the bridesmaids.
On leaving for the honeymoon, which is being spent in Victoria, the bride wore gerbera pink Romaine, with a navy blue coat and accessories.
Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Hiscock will make their home at Parkfields, Murgon.
