Bruce Harold White enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 28/8/1916. The Certificate of Medical Examination describes Bruce as :- 23 years and one month, height - 5 feet 5 and 3 quarter inches, weight - 128 pounds, chest measurement - 32/36 inches, complexion - fresh, eyes - brown, hair - brown and religious denomination - Church of England. His distinctive marks were - 3 vacs left arm. Bruce fought in the middle east and on 30/6/1917 was admitted to hospital with pleurisy and trensferred to Cairo, then on 30/10/1917 was transferred to Pt. Said Res Camp. He was returned to Australia on the “Wiltshire” with Tuberculosis Pleurisy and discharged on 29/12/1917.
