Electoral Roll: - 1909, 1914 - Omeo, Vic. - Miller

The Omeo Standard. Tuesday June 2 1914.
DEATH OF MR TAYLOR
Omeo received a shock on Friday morning when news came from Melbourne of the death of Mr. John Taylor, of the firm J. and F. Taylor, Livingstone Four Mills, Omeo. A few months ago, he left the business in charge of his brother, Mr. Fred Taylor, and went to reside with his family at a property he purchased at Elwood, and when he got the family settled he went into Dr. Bird’s private hospital to undergo an operation of which he had been warned some months previously. The operation took place three weeks ago, but Mr. Taylor’s vitality was so strained that he could never make headway after the operation, though at the last his death was unexpected. He leaves a wife and two children surviving him.
Mr. Taylor’s age at the time of death was 52, and he had passed most of his life in Omeo. One of his chief hobbies was the welfare of the Agricultural Society, and besides having been president he had always been an ardent worker for its success. He was also a commissioner of the Omeo Waterworks Trust, and had been president and worker for many other of the local organisations. The funeral was held at the Brighton Cemetery on Saturday.
