Arthur Leslie Oxlade

Arthur was born 17 Oct 1895 Windermere st, Ballarat. He and Phyllis resided 416 Dawson st, Ballarat from late 1920's to 1960 prior to relocating to Rockhampton, Queensland to be nearer to sons who lived in Queensland. Arthur worked with various Ballarat companies; in 1950's as representative for Bucklands Pty Ltd, automotive, cycle and tool suppliers. A hobby was greyhounds. Another was gardening for which he won many competitions in Ballarat and Rockhampton. He was still winning gardening competitions in Rockhampton in his eighties and driving his Peugeot in 1983. Arthur married Phyllis Ivy Jackson in 1919 in Ballarat, Victoria Australia. (Phyllis Ivy Jackson was born in 1897 in Victoria Australia and died in 1971 in Rockhampton, Queensland Australia.)
