BUNTINE - JOHNSON WEDDING.
The wedding took place at St. Columb’s Church, Hawthorn, on Saturday evening of Irene, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. Johnson, Kinkora Road, Hawthorn, and John Clinton , only son of Mrs. John Symington Buntine, Grove Road, Hawthorn. The bride wore a gown of duchess satin made on straight lines, with a train lined with delicate shell pink falling from the waist. The veil was of filmy net, and a beautiful bouquet of azaleas and lilies of the valley was carried. Mrs. John Wareham Murray (sister of the bride) was matron of honour and Miss Victoria Buntine (sister of the bridegroom) was bridesmaid. They wore frocks of faint pink georgette, with felt hats in the same shade relieved with touches of blue. Their slippers matched their frocks, and they carried bouquets of pink roses and carnations. The bride was given away by her father, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. D. M. Deasy, assisted by the Rev. J. Briggs. Mr. Ted Dorward was best man, and Mr. Desmond Harris was groomsman. After the wedding Mr. and Mrs. Johnson gave a reception at the Hotel Windsor. Among those present there were:-
