John B Williams was born in Mackay, Queensland
where his father Jack (Hurricane Jack)65 was a ship's captain for Burns Philp. JB Williams also worked for Burns Philp and was in charge of the Japanese section in Sydney until it was closed due to Japan entering the war.
The family lived in 11 Laurence Street, Fairlight at least as early as 192066 67. This was the home Bellerive that was built by F C Passau, Ruby's father.


John married Ruby Lillian Passau, daughter of Alderman Frederick Charles Passau and Rachael Benton, on 3 Jan 1906 in St Andrews Cathedral, George St, Sydney, NSW Australia. (Ruby Lillian Passau was born on 16 Dec 1886 in "Fairlands", Ashburner St, Manly, Sydney, NSW Australia, died on 17 Feb 1931 in Fairlight, Private Hospital, Manly, Sydney, NSW Australia and was buried on 18 Feb 1931 in Manly Cemetery, Sydney, NSW Australia Plot K 260 C of E Section (near children playground Griffiths St).)
