• Emigration. Arrived in Australia on 24 August 1879 sailed from London England name of the ship was City of London Orient Line and landed in Sydney

• fact. Died from bronchitis

• Residence. Joseph was living at Altoft, Yorkshire at the time of his marriage to Margaret

• Residence. Living at Corrimal when George Arthur was born in 1894 & also lived at Gipps St Mt Keira

• fact. had a trip to England in 1892 from May to Oct on ship Ophir. Sent a letter after a time to stay to stop packing as he was returning to Australia

• emigrated. Emigrated to Australia in 1879 approx because when he died in 1931 he had lived in Australia for 52 years

Joseph lived with his parents until at least 18 and possibly till married. The whole family moved to Normanton, Yorkshire sometime between 1871 and 1874 (Altofts is adjacent to Normanton) after their father's (Thomas's) death. Joseph probably met Margaret while still living in Wolverhampton, as Shrewsbury is only ~60km west

Joseph had a trip back to England in 1892 on the ship 'Ophir'
