Eva was born 15th November, 1886 at Lower Priory Street, St. Mary Bishophi ll Senior, York. Her father was Francis Denham and her mother was Alice M aria Denham [nee Ward]. Francis registered her birth on the 26th Novembe r, 1886 and his occupation was Police Inspector. Ben Chapman was the Regi strar. George Robert Spink had her birthday in his diary as 17th Novembe r, and 22nd August, 1973 as the day that she died.

During the last war, Mrs. Spink did canteen work with the W.V.S. buff et at Darlington Bank Top Station, the Darlington Y.M.C.A. and Darlingt on Memorial Hospital. For many years she has been a member of the committ ee of the women's section of the British Legion and is still on that commi ttee. She is a keen worker for the British Legion Club and for several ye ars has been a Poppy Day worker taken from a newspaper cutting about E va and Robert's 50th wedding anniversary.

SPINK - August 22 (in hospital), Eva Edith, aged 86 years, beloved wi fe of the late Robert Spink and a dearly loved mother. Cortege leaves dau ghter's residence 66 Meadowfield Road, Friday, 1.15 p.m. for service in S t. Mary's Church, 1.30 p.m. followed by interment West Cemetery taken fr om a newspaper cutting.

* Checked the 1881 census for Acomb to see who was living at 12A Barlow St reet then. There aren't many street names at all for Acomb and so can't s ay for sure who it was.
