With the consent of the Governor, Mary married a convict Benjamin Matthews (c1790\endash 1852) on 11 June 1832 at All Saints Church of England, Sutton Forest, NSW, aged 17 years.

Mary died on 5 May 1904 in Taralga, NSW, aged 89 years, of senile decay and was buried on 7 May 1904 in an unmarked grave at Stonequarry Cemetery, at Taralga, NSW.

Goulburn Evening Penny Post, Saturday 14 May 1904:

TARALGA.

Death of an Old Colonist. \endash Mrs. McDonald, mother of Mrs. Taylor, of Taralga, and of Messrs. J. and R. McDonald, died at the residence of her daughter on Thursday night after a short illness. The deceased lady was 95 years of age, and a native of the colony, being born at Windsor, on the Hawksbury. She was a remarkably sound, healthy woman, and up to a few weeks ago was able to knock about, sew, and attend to household duties. The deceased lady was married twice, and the mother of a very large family, the greater number of whom she survived. The remains were interred in the Presbyterian cemetery at Stonequarry, the Revs. C. Crane and W. Martyn reading the burial service. The funeral was largely attended.

DEATH.

One of the oldest residents of the district, Mrs. Mary Ann McDonald, died on the 12 instant, and was buried in the Presbyterian cemetery at Stonequarry. Deceased was 93 years of age, and was born at Windsor, N.S.W. She had resided in the Taralga district for over 60 years, was the mother of 17 children, and 92 grandchildren, 140 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.

TARALGA.

The Late Mrs. McDonald. \endash A correspondent has kindly supplied me with some interesting particulars regarding this old lady, who died at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. T. Taylor, on the 5 instant. The deceased was born at Windsor in 1811, and was a resident of Taralga district for 58 years, the last nine of which she resided with her son-in-law in Taralga. She was the mother of 17 children, eight of whom are alive. Her grand-children number 92, her great-grand-children 140, and her great-great-grand-children eight.
