• Military. ²³⁰ George enlisted in the Army 26th July, 1916 at Pittsworth aged 18 years and 1 month. He was 6' tall with brown hair and grey eyes.

George was discharged on 1st August, 1916 as medically unfit '96 a Varicose vein condition which he had been born with and previously operated on had worsened.
