His Certificate of Competency (service) Master Mariner, Coast, was granted on 31st January, 1873. • Resided. in 1865 he lived at 1 Forbes St, Sydney. John married Mary Anne Alderton, daughter of Henry Baker Alderton and Mary Ann Holland, on 8 Jun 1869 in Balmain, Sydney, NSW Australia.
