William Henry Gogerly

Rhonda Thomas / Robertson & Lil Gogerly's notes where it is written that he died when he was lost at sea, despite being a master mariner, when his ship disappeared during a fierce storm. • Occupation. William became a seaman and received his Certificate of Competency as a servce Master Mariner Coast on 18th June 1872. About this time he bought a 24 ton Ketch "Tim Whiffler" built by Tom & Rock Davis of Davistown. • Resided. He lived at Nicholson St, Sydney & later paid the deposit on his first 40 acre block of land at Booti Booti, NSW. William married Mary Ann Gibson in 1863 in Sydney, NSW Australia. (Mary Ann Gibson was born in 1812 in Leeds, West Yorkshire England and died on 16 Mar 1893 in Woolloomooloo, Sydney, NSW Australia.) |
