Lexie Joan Hayes

  General Notes:

I was born in the Colac Hospital. For the first six months I lived at Bali ntore after which her family moved to Pound Road Colac. I attended Ellimin yt primary School Prep grade for 8 months then we moved to Pirron Yallo ck where I stayed until April 1959. Once again we moved, this time ba ck to Balintore where I lived until competing my primary schooling at Alv ie Consolidated School and secondary schooling, matriculating from the Col ac High School in 1968.
From there I went to the Geelong Teachers College to gain my Trained Prima ry Teachers Certificate (TPTC)
My first posting was to Beeac Primary School in 1971-1972 teaching grad es three and four. This was followed by four years at Norlane Primary Scho ol while also completing my Diploma in Teaching at night.
My last teaching position was at Grovedale West Primary School.
During my teaching career I taught every straight and composite grade fr om one to five.
I was also actively involved in the Beeac Young Farmers and Geelong Rotara ct Club.
In 1990 I attended 4 cake decorating classes and became addicted to the po int where I now run my own business "Cakes By Lexie". My second love is in formation technology and I produce my own website as well as the website f or the Cake Decorators Association of Victoria. I am currently preside nt of the Colac Branch of Cake Decorators Association of Victoria and tea ch and demonstrate throughout the state.

Lexie married Bruce Sinclair Picken on 30 Apr 1977 in St Johns C of E, Colac, Victoria Australia. (Bruce Sinclair Picken was born on 11 Mar 1947 in Geelong, Victoria Australia.)
