"Wisbey- On June 8 at Ballarat, Violet May, loved wife of the late Willi am Wisbey, and loving mother of Jean (Mrs Les Hayes, Balintore), and lov ed mother in law of Les, and loving Ma Ma of Pam (deceased), Lexie, Jan et and Peter. Aged 70 years.
Formerly of Beeac.

Violet married William Wisbey, son of James Wisbey and Mary ( Elizabeth or Bessie) Burns, on 19 Jan 1915 in St Augustines Church of England, Beachwood, Victoria Australia. (William Wisbey was born on 19 Feb 1888 in Drysdale, Victoria Australia, died in Feb 1948 in Keilor, Melbourne, Victoria Australia and was buried on 19 Feb 1948 in Keilor Cemetery, Melbourne, Victoria Australia COE 205D.). The cause of his death was broncho-pneumonia 6 days, pyelonephrosis 2 years.

Extract from a newspaper "The Cressy and Lismore Pioneer" about the marria ge.
"A very pretty wedding was celebrated in St. Augustine's Church of Englan d, Beeac. on Thursday January 19th. The bride's friends had decorated t he church very prettily with initials of bride and bridegroom and a massi ve wedding bell. The bride's dress was of white silk embossed voile. She c arried a bouquet of white roses, heath and maidenhair fern, with white si lk streamers and veil. The bridesmaids were gowned in white silk, and carr ied handsome pink and white bouquets. The contracting parties, were Miss V iolet Wood, only daughter of Mr and Mrs H Wood, of Beeac, and Mr William W isbey, elder son of Mr and Mrs Jas. Wisbey of Beeac (formerly of Ballan a nd Bacchus Marsh). The bridesmaids were Miss Jessie Batty, cousin of the b ride, and Miss Elizabeth Wisbey, sister of the bridegroom. The ceremony w as performed by the Rev. J. J. McCall, of Birregurra, assisted by the Re v. Mr Crawford, of Beeac. The bride was given away by her father, and h er brother, Private Percy Wood, also stood with her. The best man was Mr H arvey Wood, and the groomsman Mr Albert Missen. The choir sang "O Perfe ct Love" and "The Voice that Breathed o'er Eden". Mr and Mrs Wisbey receiv ed their guests -about 60- in the public hall, where an arch and a huge fl oral swastika had been erected for the occasion. Here a sumptuous weddi ng feast was laid out, under the supervision of the caterers, Mr and Mrs S trachan. After the repast the following toasts were honored- "The King", p roposed by Rev.Mr McCall, responded to by the guests; "The Bride and Bride groom", proposed by Mr McCall, replied to by the bridegroom; "Parents of t he Bride and Bridegroom", proposed by Mr Albert Missen, response by Mr Wo od and Mr Wisbey; "The Bridesmaids", proposed by the bridegroom, and respo nded to by Mr Harvey Wood and Mr Bert Missen; "The Soldier", proposed by R ev. Mr Crawford, and responded to by Mr Percy Wood. Mr Bugg took a pho to of the bridal group. They left by motor for Irrewarra, where the honeym oon is to be spent. The happy couple were the recipients of many useful a nd handsome presents."
