Richard III Plantagenet
Noted events in his life were: • fact. Richard III was King of England from 1483 until his death. He was the last king from the House of York, and his defeat at the Battle of Bosworth marked the culmination of the War of the Roses and the end of the Plantagenet dynasty.After the death of his brother King Edward IV, Richard briefly governed as regent for Edward's son King Edward Vwith the title of Lord Protector, but he placed Edward V and his brother Richard, 1st Duke of York in the Tower of London and seized the throne for himself, being crowned on 6 July 1483. Richard married Anne Neville on 12 Jul 1472 in Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, Middlesex England. (Anne Neville was born on 11 Jun 1456 in Warwick Castle, Warwick, Warwickshire England and died on 16 Mar 1485.) |
