Richard Plantagenet Duke of York
Noted events in his life were: • fact. Richard was a member of the English royal family, who served in senior positions in France at the end of the Hundred Years' War, and in England during Henry VI of England's madness. His conflict with Henry VI was a leading factor in the political upheaval of mid-fifteenth-century England, and a major cause of the War of the Roses. Although he never became king, he was the father of Edward IV and Richard III of England. Richard married Cecily Neville Oct 1429 c. (Cecily Neville was born in 1415 and died in 1495.) |
