Her Roman Catholic father, James II & VII, was forcibly deposed in 1688; her brother-in-law and her sister then became joint monarchs as William III and Mary II, the only such case in British history. After Mary's death in 1694, William continued as sole monarch until his own death in 1702. Anne married Prince George Jorgen of Denmark & Norway Duke of Cumberland on 28 Jul 1683 in St James Palace, London England. (Prince George Jorgen of Denmark & Norway Duke of Cumberland was born on 2 Apr 1653 in Copenhagen, Kobenhavn Denmark and died on 28 Oct 1708.) |
