William Rice

  General Notes:

William and his brother Robert, migrated to Australia in 1862 on the"Hotspur". Robert went on to New Zealand to lived some time after1872. After Margaret died, William went to New Zealand to visit hisbrother and find a new wife and mother for the younger children. Hemarried Elizabeth Ann Hollier in Kaiopoi New Zealand in 1901andreturned home. After he died Elizabeth went back to New Zealand tolive.
William and Margaret left the South Coast in 1886/87 and sail on thesteamer "Tomki" to the Richmond River District and settled atKnockrow, N.S.W.
Both William and Robert worked for James Mackay Gray who paid theirway out to Australia.

William next married Elizabeth Ann Hollier in 1902 in Kaiapoi, Christchurch New Zealand. (Elizabeth Ann Hollier was born in Oct 1850 in Houghton Rd, Bedfordshire England and died in 1928 in New Zealand.)
