• fact. Elizabeth Craig, born at Bankend on the 1st of May, 1882. (GROS Ref. 1882, 621, 51) Elizabeth married William Craig (b. Avondale c.1875) of Fallside, Wiston, son of John Craig and Margaret Craig, at Bankend on the 6th of October 1905. Although it does not say so on the marriage certificate, it is almost certain that Elizabeth and William are cousins, Margaret Craig being Alexander's sister (and cousin in turn to her husband John - all very complicated!). Elizabeth died at 69 Stewart Street, Carluke, on the 25th of July 1952.
