Records also show that Timothy was the licensee of the Plough Inn in Phillip Street Parramatta from 1833 to 1837. The General Return of Convicts in New South Wales for the year 1837 shows that Timothy was the master of a convict woman called Catherine Balding, aged 23, who had been tried at Cork and who had been transported to New South Wales on the "Thomas Harrison" in 1836.

The "Cumberland Argus" of the 1st June 1889 reports on storm damage sustained to Timothy's orchard. It reads as follows -
"Toongabbie Creek 10ft higher than on any occasion during last 30 years. In Mr T. Brien's orchard orange trees that had weathered out the storms of the last 25 yrs were torn up and washed away. The engine shed was damaged and the boiler overturned. Fully a thousand loads of soil were washed away. An acre of 3 year old apple trees were levelled to the ground and 1/2 an acre of potatoes were washed away".

Upon his death on the 15th January 1897, the "Cumberland Argus" dated the 16th January 1897 published his obituary, which read as follows -
"It is with deep regret that we have to record the fact that on yesterday (Friday) morning another of the district's well known identities passed away. We refer to the death of Mr Timothy Brien of Seven Hills. The old gentleman has been ailing for a long time and his illness occasioned much concern among a wide circle of friends and has been referred to in the 'Argus'. Mr Brien had reached the advanced age of 83 years and lately his health was breaking up fast. The funeral is arranged for 2 o'clock this afternoon and will move to Castle Hill Church of England Cemetery". (Ref: Cumberland Argus and FruitgrowersAdvocate, 16th January, 1897)
