[grayfamilytree.FTW] [learmouth.FTW] Came back from Manchester to register death of his father. He was staying at Beech Lawn, Ardenshaw to be exact as per death register. Began as Iron founders clerk. He was in Manchester and borrowed money from his brother in law James Ross to become co-owner of the Planet foundry Ardenshaw. After his son Alex death, nephew James Shaw help run the foundry. Many workers came from the Falkirk area. It became part of Allied Iron founders and James Shaw was national chairman. It was taken over by Glynwed. There is no foundry now and sadly no records. The workers houses remain and locals recall the planet. Info supplied by Anne Cruickshank.
