Rebecca travelled to Sydney on the ship Northampton with her mother who was a convict and her siblings Mary and Charles. It sailed from Portsmouth on 1 Jan 1815. The master was John O. Tween. The ship arrived in Sydney on 18 Jun 1815. They were all taken to the female factory at Parramatta. Rebecca would have been about 8 years old on the voyage.
Rebecca was listed as a fruit grower at Castle Hill in the 1872 Postal Directory, along with her sons James, Charles, Edwin and John.



Rebecca married John Crane, son of John Crane and Susannah Elizabeth Broome, in 1823 in St Philips C of E, York St, Sydney, NSW Australia. (John Crane was born on 17 Sep 1787 in Norwich, Norfolk England, christened on 9 Nov 1821 on board the 'Malabar' on the way to Australia, died on 18 Apr 1865 in Sevenoaks, Seven Hills, Sydney, NSW Australia and was buried on 20 Apr 1865 in St Pauls, Castle Hill, Sydney, NSW Australia.)
