Mary travelled to Sydney on the ship Northampton with her mother who was a convict and her siblings Rebecca and Charles. It sailed from Portsmouth on 1 Jan 1815. The master was John O. Tween. The ship arrived in Sydney on 18 Jun 1815. They were all taken to the female factory at Parramatta. Mary would have been 12 years old on the voyage.


Mary married Henry Gardener on 7 Aug 1822 in St Philips C of E, York St, Sydney, NSW Australia. (Henry Gardener was born in 1798 in England UK, christened on 8 Jan 1819 on board the 'Globe' on way to Australia as a convict, died on 12 Mar 1850 in Yass, NSW Australia and was buried on 14 Mar 1850 in Yass, NSW Australia.)
