Robert married Elizabeth Ann Edgley, daughter of William Clifton and Ellen O'Brien, on 14 Oct 1868 in Castlereagh, NSW Australia. (Elizabeth Ann Edgley was born in 1840 in Raymond Terrace, NSW Australia.)
