On March 14, 1854, Thomas Dawson arranged and paid seventeen pounds and ten schillings (remittance regulator-depositor), for his daughter-in-law's, Mary Ann (nee Garner) Dawson, sister, Elizabeth (nee Garner) White, and her family, to come to Australia. On the March 18, 1855, the family arrived into New South Wales on the Sailing Vessel "Ascendant".
Elizabeth White (nee Garner) she was 30 years old. Her husband, Thomas White was aged 35 years, with an occupation as a Bricklayer's Laborer. They have with them four of their children. Emily Ann White aged 7 years, Benjamin Joseph White aged 5 years, John White aged 3 years, and Mary Ann White a newborn infant.
Elizabeth's parents were listed on the shipping records, as Thomas & Esther Garner, the mother Esther is noted to be deceased while the father remains back in Bedford, England. Thomas' parents were William and Ann White, his father deceased at time of departure of England, his mother at Bedford.
Mary Anne was Church of England but Thomas was a Baptist. The first two son born in England were baptized as Baptist and while this was done Mary baptized as Baptist too before leaving England.
She immigrated in March 18, 1855, when the ship arrived from England on SV "Ascendent" to New South Wales Sydney Harbor. This you note is a different time than her husbands sailing time.

Mary married Thomas Benjamin Dawson, son of Thomas William Dawson and Anne Elizabeth (Betsy) Hare, on 28 Oct 1844 in St Pauls C of E, Renhold, Bedfordshire England. (Thomas Benjamin Dawson was born on 23 Mar 1825 in Renhold, Bedfordshire England, christened on 17 Apr 1825 in Renhold, Bedfordshire England, died on 25 Jan 1914 in East Armidale, NSW Australia and was buried in Armidale cemetery, NSW Australia Methodist section ⁵¹⁵.)
